FOUNDER

For GROTTO founder Huang Boqing, creation begins with exploration. Through journeys across diverse cultures and landscapes, he developed a deeper understanding of design — that every object holds a dialogue between people, places, and time..

This belief became the foundation of GROTTO: creating leather pieces that are not only designed to be used, but to evolve with the people who carry them.

At GROTTO, craftsmanship begins with the material itself.

The fine leathers we select are sourced from Tuscany, Italy — a region celebrated for generations of exceptional leather-making tradition. Through careful tanning and natural maturation, each leather develops its own distinctive depth, texture, and character.

Every GROTTO handbag is crafted with a deep respect for traditional craftsmanship. From pattern making, leather selection, and cutting to stitching and final finishing, each piece passes through numerous carefully executed processes by skilled artisans with years of experience in fine leather craftsmanship.

Working closely with renowned tanneries, we continue to explore leather development, innovative finishes, and specialized techniques. Together with the expertise of our atelier, these collaborations allow us to transform creative ideas into refined leather pieces — where every detail is thoughtfully considered, and every stitch reflects our pursuit of enduring quality.
